"To truly understand a place, you don’t just visit—you listen, observe, and slowly blend in its rhythm."
If you truly want to explore a place, you should try your best to blend in and taste the local foods. Indonesia is known for having some of the spiciest cuisine, as locals often can't go through their day without a hint of spice in their meals. At first, I was afraid that the food wouldn’t suit my taste buds, but after trying the famous drink, Es Teh, I began to love their cuisine. Fortunately, I was accompanied by Juls, and we both enjoy trying local dishes.
Even though I'm not yet halfway through my stay, I've already found my favorite street food: cimol. Tasting it for the first time made me so happy that I couldn't help but dance in the room because it was so delicious! In addition to that, some of Indonesian street foods are considered to be the Philippines 'merienda' or afternoon snacks.
