When we arrived in Indonesia, we had a wonderful opportunity to join a special activity organized by our host school—a tour of schools under the Muhammadiyah Organization. We thought it would be just another formal visit, but it turned out to be much more special than we expected.
Our first stop was at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by cheerful students and friendly teachers. Their excitement was contagious! It warmed our hearts to see how genuinely eager they were to meet us. The colorful classrooms and fun conversations with the kids made it clear how much love and care the school community shares.
As part of their welcoming tradition, they gave us smiles and hijabs (scarves) to wear. The students were thrilled to learn about Philippine culture and the fun activities we enjoy during our time in Indonesia.
Next, we visited SD Muhammadiyah PK Baturan, where we received the same warm welcome from the faculty, staff, and students. Similar to our previous visit, we engaged in a question-and-answer session, where we happily shared our Filipino culture and our first impressions of Indonesia.
Our last stop was at MIM AKA Mojogedang, a madrasah that radiated peace and discipline. It felt a bit quieter, but the warmth from the community was still very much alive.
